Elegant antique French sterling silver 2" napkin ring with ornate Empire style decoration including floral garland and "Berthe inscription! A beautiful piece, the front with a large medallion and inscription, floral garland encircling the piece and ornate borders. This one marked with the post-1878 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within that mark means it's in.

950 silver 95% pure and higher than the. 925 standard for "sterling" silver.

The silversmith mark is elusive, sometimes they're so tiny that finding them can be difficult and there are instances where a maker mark is just absent.
